War Memorials

Following the First World War it is clear that the scale of loss of young men in the war and the emotional outpouring was far greater in the north of England than elsewhere. The result was the creation of numerous impressive war memorial sculptures.

Many of these have been photographed by Marguerite Rami and appear in this section of the War Poetry website together with her commentaries.
